Collin County Judge
Keith Self has issued a burn ban for Collin County effective 21st
day of February 2009, the ban is for a period of 90 days or such
time conditions exist to either lift the ban or extend the ban. |

Fire Dept. responds to structure fire Christmas night...
December 26, 2008 - The Prosper Fire Department responded
to a structure fire Christmas night at a residence on E First
Street. Flames could be seen while enroute to the scene.
Fire operations were difficult due to the distance to the
nearest water source. Mutual aid was received from Frisco,
Little Elm, Pilot Point, and Celina. Prosper units on
scene included Engine 1, Medic 1, Engine 2, Brush 1, Brush 2,
Chief 1, and Fire Marshal 1. |

Safety For The Holidays...
December 3, 2008 - The Prosper Fire Department wants to
reinforce fire safety during the holiday season. The National
Fire Protection Association (NFPA) reports that there is
annually an estimated average of 210 home structure fires that
begin with Christmas trees. The picture to the left shows what
can happen in just 11 seconds with an under-watered tree. Be
sure not to overload electrical circuits, or bypass any safety
features of electrical devices - they are

residents of Ordinance #00-13 which prohibits fireworks and to
encourage them to have a safe holiday season.

Fire Department Open House: Saturday Nov. 8, 11AM-4PM...
October 29, 2008 - Come and visit the Fire Station and
meet the Firefighters of Prosper from 11am-4pm on Saturday
November 8th, 2008. There will be food, live demonstrations,
games and more.
